The objective of our Inspection and Testing home study course and revision aid is to give trainees the confidence to sit a relevant qualification, for example the City & Guilds 2391 Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing, Design and Certification of Electrical Installations. It is designed as a study aid for the student, who will have to complete a written examination and practical test at an approved examination centre to achieve their 2391 certificate.
The course is designed to help participants understand the dangers associated with electrical testing and recognise the precautions necessary for the protection of personnel and equipment and also understand the statutory and non-statutory requirements for testing of installations.
The course will help participants carry out visual inspection of electrical installations in accordance with the Regulations and understand the requirements for periodic inspection and testing.
The Inspection and Testing home study course illustrates how to perform appropriate electrical tests including, continuity of protective conductors, continuity of ring final circuit conductors, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance and RCD and functional testing.
The course also illustrates how to determine appropriate test pass levels and interpret results correctly and how to correctly complete the relevant documentation (the IEE periodic inspection report and schedule of inspections and schedule of test results).
The course can be studied at the student’s own pace and convenience and when confident to do so, the student can arrange to sit a relevant examination at any approved examination centre that accepts external candidates.
Successful completion of the exams can lead to the award of the City and Guilds 2391 Part 1 - Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations - an indispensable qualification for practicing electricians.

“The City & Guilds 2391 exam was the most difficult exam I’ve ever taken in my life. I’d rather re-sit my driving test than sit the 2391 again! Anyway, I passed with flying colours with the help of your course (over half the students with me failed) so thought I’d let you know. Many thanks.” D. Evans, Chester

Following my exceptional 2381 pass using your materials, I bought your 2391 pack & passed 1st time. Admittedly, I also attended a course because I had no practical testing experience to relate to. However, the graphic clarity of your materials by-passed the double-Dutch of IEE Guidance note 3. I'm convinced that I would have failed without the simplicity of your materials.
I'm pleased to see that you are adding more courses in different disciplines. Keep up the good work.”
