This 3rd Edition of the Code of Practice has now been fully updated and revised to reflect the current best practice concerning In-Service Inspection and Testing, otherwise known as PAT Testing.
This book is an essential accompaniment to our PAT Testing Course and will be required by anyone intending to take the 2377-12 exam.
The third edition Code of Practice provides guidance to those responsible for the inspection, testing and maintenance of electrical appliances and now contains full colour photographs, drawings and illustrations to help the reader identify common problems.
In conjunction with our 2377 PAT course and exam simulator, this "Code of Practice" will provide you with all you need to pass your 2377 PAT exam.
It is important when purchasing the Code of Practice that you purchase the 3rd Edition, as it is a great improvement over previous editions and it is this edition that the 2377 exam is based on.
To take the 2377 exam, you will need a ‘clean’ copy of the publication, which means a copy that has not been written on or bookmarked in any way.
We have provided a link above which will take you directly to the purchasing page for the 3rd Edition of the Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.
Our 2377 PAT Testing home study course has been fully updated to this code of practice and also to the 17th edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations.
The objective of the 3rd Edition of the Code of Practice is to give advice on in-service inspection and testing, commonly known as PAT Testing, to determine whether electrical equipment is fit for continued service, or whether maintenance or replacement is necessary.
The Code of Practice has been updated to clarify the types of equipment that is covered and clear up the ‘competent person’ confusion by explaining it in a clearer manner. The updates also include alternative test methods, the use of test leads and also covers RCD adaptors and extension leads.
The new Appendices section of the Code of Practice is especially useful in illustrating the many deficiencies that can result from the appliance plug or cable.
Although released before the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, the 3rd edition code of practice fully recognises and takes into account the 17th edition, as does our PAT Testing Course.
