17th Edition Wiring Regulations
The seventeenth ( 17th ) edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations, BS 7671:2008 Requirements for Electrical Installation is due to be published during January 2008 and is scheduled to come into effect from July 2008.
City and Guilds are in the process of developing new qualifications that will take changes to the current 16th edition wiring regulations into account. The new 17th edition City and Guilds qualifications are due to be launched in September. It is our intention to update all our course material to reflect the seventeenth edition wiring regulations and provide students with a definite advantage when sitting the new 17th edition exam.
The new City and Guilds 17th edition exams are expected to be available in January 2008 and we are expecting a massive demand for our updated 17th edition course material.

The short answer is - Yes !
For those that haven’t passed the City and Guilds 2381 yet, now may be an ideal time. Demand for the 2381 examinations may be low at the moment as candidates wait for the new seventeenth edition wiring regulations exam. But, the new 17th edition exams are expected to be massively over subscribed!
There’s also expected to be a one day ‘17th. edition update’ for those who’ve already obtained their 16th edition 2381 and, although these courses are also expected to be massively over subscribed, it may be a good time to get your 2381 course material and sit the 2381 exam. You will then be able to get your 17th edition material when it becomes available and simply book in to any approved City and Guilds examination centre that accepts external candidates and sit your 17th edition certificate.
